Rhod is from Wales and a former NHS worker. Rhod studied blacksmithing many years ago and thought heād never pick up a hammer again but now is make trench staples as a volunteer in Kharkiv. Rhodās grandfather was from Ukraine and heās been coming to the country for over a decade and says he loves it here. Rhod wants to help Ukrainians protect their country. In his spare time, Rhod makes metal forever roses at his workshop. Each rose is made from Ukrainian steel, shaped by hand with basic tools and a dedication to keeping traditional craftsmanship alive under fire.

In August 2022, Mac Hughes traveled from Canada to Ukraine with his father to support Ukrainians through volunteering. They settled in Kharkiv, where they founded HUGS, a volunteer organization dedicated to helping local residents affected by the war.
In 2025, Mac made the courageous decision to join the Ukrainian army and stand against the occupiers. Just a few months later, he suffered severe injuries when a drone strike hit the vehicle he was in. Trapped beneath the burning car, Mac miraculously managed to escape. He sustained 30% burns to his body and is now undergoing recovery.
